“Emeritus: Gordon Wilson” Opens in the Bryan Oliver Gallery

The newest exhibit in Whitworth’s Bryan Oliver Gallery features over 50 years of art created by Professor Emeritus of Art & Design Gordon Wilson. Wilson served as a professor at Whitworth for 46 years before retiring last spring.

“This exhibit is an opportunity for us to show our appreciation for all Gordon has done for the art & design department and for the university,” says gallery director Lance Sinnema.

The gallery unveiled the exhibit Tuesday with the opening reception and artist’s lecture.

“We hope that many of those Gordon has impacted throughout his career as a painter, including colleagues, alumni and members of the Spokane art community, of which he continues to be an active member, will be able to join us as we celebrate Gordon through this 50-year retrospective,” says Stacey Moo, department program specialist.

Check out “Emeritus: Gordon Wilson” at the Bryan Oliver Gallery now through Jan. 24, 2024.
