Biology students take field trip to Verbrugge Environmental Center

Students in Professor of Biology Grant Casady’s Ecological Measures class took a field trip on Oct. 19 to the Verbrugge Environmental Center to measure stream quality metrics on the Little Spokane River. Pictured are Haley Britton ’25, Erica Heid ’24, Jack Ireton ’26 and Ali Stone ’25. Whitworth’s Verbrugge Center, nestled in the Scotia Valley northeast of campus, offers 885 acres of forested land where faculty members and students do hands-on research and learning related to resource conservation, human ecology, ethno-botany and ecosystem restoration.
