Course Spotlight: International Human Rights

Whitworth brings the world to its classrooms! In International Human Rights, students participate in a simulation and represent delegates of various countries. Students get to apply human rights to a real-world crisis while developing skills like public speaking, policy writing and creation, and compromise.

Teaching the course this fall is human rights expert Matt Rains, Whitworth’s new assistant professor of political science. Rains serves as civil and political rights lead for the Human Rights Measurement Initiative, an international organization of academics and activists working to improve rights globally.
