Choir and orchestra students travel to Taiwan for Spring Break concert tour

The Whitworth Choir and Whitworth Symphony Orchestra had the amazing opportunity to travel to Taiwan for a concert tour over Spring Break! The students shared their creative talents with museumgoers and local students, spending extra time engaging with schoolchildren at the Hui Ming School for the Visually Impaired. The ensembles, led by directors Xiaosha Lin (choir) and Philip Baldwin (orchestra), also enjoyed opportunities for cultural immersion, visiting museums, bustling night markets, renowned restaurants and a tea farm, as well as taking a train to the Alishan National Forest Recreation Area.

Concert tours are a transformational component of Whitworth’s music program, enabling students to broaden their worldviews and make original contributions to humanity while connecting with people across the world. Well done, all!
