Whitworth Choir performs at Northwestern ACDA conference in Tacoma

After being selected to perform through a blind audition process, the Whitworth Choir took the stage last week at the 2026 Northwestern American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) conference in Tacoma. The choir performed its set, titled “Amazing Grace,” to choral directors and educators from across the Northwest and received an enthusiastic standing ovation. The performance was praised for its delicate yet powerful singing, high artistry and meticulous attention to detail.

This is the choir’s first appearance at the regional conference since Director of Choral Activities Xiaosha Lin, DMA, arrived at Whitworth. It takes three years of preparation to be eligible to audition. Under Lin’s direction, the choir won The American Prize in Choral Performance in 2024. She and the Whitworth Choir look forward to many more accomplishments in the future.

Congratulations, all!
