First Doctor of Physical Therapy graduates accepted into residency programs

A historic first for Whitworth DPT!

We’re proud to announce that Eddie Rojas-Pelagio ’26 and Joshua Mendoza ’26 are the first Whitworth Doctor of Physical Therapy graduates to apply for and be accepted into residency programs – a major honor for them and for our program.

Rojas-Pelagio has been accepted into the Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency at the University of Washington-EvergreenHealth, and Mendoza has been accepted into the Geriatric Residency at the University of Minnesota. They begin their residencies this fall.

Upon completion, both will be eligible to sit for the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) exam in their respective specialties – a credential held by only a select group of clinicians nationwide. We look forward to seeing how these outstanding grads will serve humanity with their diverse expertise, passions and gifts!
